Truly extraordinary food, wine & music is another element of the experience of the courthouse.

Welcome to our cosy, corner of Dornoch. Designed by Thomas Brown and opened in 1849, The Courthouse has been a central hub of Dornoch since then and The Courtroom is no exception.

Launched in 2016 and with a refreshed concept in 2020, our comfy café & tearoom by day, is now enhancing its offering to being a bar & brasserie at night. Allowing friends, old & new, to enjoy more of what makes us special; The best of the highland larder, weekly live music, specially selected wines, craft beers & house-made cocktails.

Although the Jury are ‘out’, a sea of famous and infamous faces will still be ‘presiding’ over proceedings in The Courtroom. Our mural created by Sandy Noble depicts a ‘journal’ of the history and culture in Dornoch, past and present.

So, relax, unwind, enjoy the atmosphere and let our team look after you.
